Proceso de Lay SB1718
- Requerir que los empleadores con 25 empleados o más utilicen el sistema E-verify poco confiable.

- Criminalizar a quienes viajan con una persona que no tiene un estatus migratorio regulado ENTRANDO al estado de Florida con un delito grave con hasta 15 años de prisión.
- Prohibir la financiación de programas comunitarios de identificación.
- Anular licencias de conducir emitidas legalmente fuera del estado para aquellos sin un estatus migratorio regulado.
- Hacer que el Jefe de Seguridad Doméstica coordine las acciones de control de inmigración en Florida.
- Derogar la ley que permite ejercer la abogacía a los abogados que aún están regulando su estatus migratorio.
- Permitir que las agencias de aplicación de la ley recopilen muestras de ADN de personas detenidas bajo una solicitud de detención federal que no posean un estatus migratorio regular.
El proceso de ley SB1718 Ha sido enmendada Y como resultado:
- NO será delito vivir, dar cobijo o alquilar un espacio a familiares, amigos o vecinos que tengan una situación irregular.
- NO será un delito proporcionar transporte dentro del estado de Florida a cualquier persona con un estatus no regulado.
- El sistema E-Verify SOLAMENTE será requerido para empleadores con 25 empleados o más.

SB1718 will:
- Require employers with 25 employees ar more to use the unreliable E-verify system.
- Force hospitals and emergency departments that accept Medicaid to collect the patient's immigration status.
- Criminalize those who travel with a person who is without a regulated immigration status into the state of Florida with a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
- Prohibit funding for community ID programs.
- Invalidate legally issued out-of-state driver's licenses for those without a regulated immigration status.
- Have the Chief of Domestic Security coordinate immigration enforcement actions in Florida.
- Repeal the law allowing lawyers who are still regulating their immigration status from practicing law.
- Allow law enforcement agencies to collect DNA samples from people detained under a federal detainer request who do not possess a regulated immigration status.
While this discriminatory bill was signed by the Governor, our community came together in their anger over the criminalization of our families. Our voices and actions pushed for legislators to remove what they first intended the bill to do. They didn't do this because they wanted to, they did it because we pushed it!
- It will NOT be a crime to live, provide shelter, or rent space for family members, friends or neighbors who have an unregulated status.
- It will NOT be a crime to provide transportation within the state of Florida to any person with an unregulated status.
- The E-Verify system will ONLY be required for employers with 25 employees or more.
- You do NOT need to provide your immigration status to hospitals, you have the right to decline to answer.
